About

Ricardo Lopes is an independent documentary photographer and photojournalist based in Lisbon, Portugal.

He studied Photojournalism at Cenjor – the Professional Training Center for Journalists – in 2017 and has since collaborated with several leading national and international newspapers.

He regularly contributes to publications such as Jornal Público, Expresso, De Volkskrant, and The Guardian, covering a wide range of topics, including politics, economy, environment, culture, art, and travel, for both daily editions and their respective weekly supplements.

Currently, he focuses on long-term projects that explore the social, economic, and environmental conditions of the people and communities he photographs.
